Question by your_lover: I have a crush on this girl, how can I get her to come to a cancer benefit?
I survived having cancer a year ago and you’d never guess what I’ve been through by looking at me.

Some time back, a beautiful woman waved me down in a parking lot with a dead battery. She is an actress and was all dolled up having just finished working on set. I jumped her car with efficiency and panache and we connected on facebook.

I noticed on her profile that she joined the “we hate cancer” group and, see, just the other day I got an invite to a cancer survivors event. I don’t know too much about the event, it’s probably a benefit/ networking event/ support group.

Any suggestions how I should frame this in such a way as to maximize my chances with her? Foremost, how can I tell her such a personal thing without it being the subject of every conversation I have with her, assuming it all goes well?

Best answer:

Answer by Sara
just ask her, ” so i was wondering what ur doing this week there’s an event going on and i was wondering if you would like to go with me” you know something simple. wait till your comfortable with her at least enough to talk about it with her and she’ll prob have some questions or what not but other than that it shouldn’t come up all the time.

best of luck

A voice actor essentially works harder than a Hollywood superstar. It’s real tough for him to show feelings and emotions while reading, fully knowing that he will not be seen on the screen. He must get into the skin of the character and pump life into the dialogues. This is where voice over training comes into play.

Voice over artists are able to master the craft of voice acting and find good employment in this field by undergoing voice over training. There are 1000s of cartoon and animated TV shows, web shows, TV/radio advertisements, web videos, and movies being made regularly. Moreover, each movie/TV show has a cast of more than 20-30 characters. The prospects for a voice talent actually abound internationally.

Voice over training course – the fundamental skills that you ought to have

Diction is one of the most vital tools of the trade. Perfect enunciation is required from the student, hence, it is necessary for him to go to speech classes to master his diction. A voice talent would always have two roles to perform – the “acting,” and the “lending voice.” This means that getting a perfect diction is not adequate to be able to join a voice over training, enrolling in an acting course is also essential for the student.

What’s taught in a voiceover training program

Analyzing and interpreting commercial copy for announcer and real-person roles are learned by the student. Interpreting narrative copy, as well as technical copy, are learned as well. The course educates the student how to efficiently coordinate mind, mouth and voice so that he can sound true to his character. The student also learns how to take direction.

Reading, recording, play back, and listening are done over and over again in an excellent voice talent training course. This is done in order for students to get it correctly. Students warm-up and perform vocal exercises and learn strategies like timing, inflection, and articulation. They understand how to maintain their voice health. Half-way into the voice over training course, students become adept at using and modifying tone, pitch, delivery speed and volume for a variety of jobs.

After the main training is over, students learn how to market their skills, tap the right contacts, and get voice over work. Instructors of the voice over program also assist them in creating a voice over demo, which would become part of their portfolio. A solid voice over training program provides students the opportunity to work in a real studio and fully grasp what they should and shouldn’t do in a sound booth and when behind the microphone.

Selecting a voice over training program

There are two aspects to voice training. Students who are attracted in selling must opt for a commercial voice over course. Commercial voice talents are employed for selling. TV advertisements, radio ads, phone and other media feature these voice overs. The voice over course also covers selling skills because all commercial voice overs sell a product or a service. This program does not include acting skills. If a student is interested in showbiz, then he should opt for dubbing and a movie or TV voice over course. Lip-synching is required by such courses, hence, the voice over talent also must have to master acting skills.

To end, all the world’s a stage and we must play a part. So if you would like to be a voice talent, and you want to learn how to improve your voice, better enroll in a reputed voice actor training course.

Washington, D.C. (PRWEB) February 14, 2012

According to a new survey issued by the Heart Rhythm Society, the majority of Americans are unaware of two serious and potentially life-threatening heart rhythm disorders: atrial fibrillation (AF) and sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). In fact, only one in three Americans have ever heard of AF or recognize the number of lives claimed each year from SCA. Throughout February, Heart Health Month, the Heart Rhythm Society spotlights the need for public education on heart rhythm disorders affecting millions of people, and the specialists best suited to treat them electrophysiologists.

More than 250,000 deaths occur each year as a result of SCA–more than breast cancer, lung cancer or AIDS. Yet, according to the recent survey, more than 65 percent of Americans not only underestimate the seriousness of SCA, but also believe SCA is a type of heart attack. While this current data does show a 5 percent increase since the Societys 2008 SCA awareness survey, the lack of awareness remains high and further education is needed. Additionally, more than 2 million people in the United States (U.S.) live with AF. Yet, survey results showed only 50 percent of Americans know AF is a type of heart rhythm disorder.

The Heart Rhythm Society is committed to helping educate the public about heart health and creating the best possible environment to improve long-term patient care, said Bruce L. Wilkoff, MD, FHRS, CCDS, president of Heart Rhythm Society. We want people to become more aware of the life-threatening heart rhythm conditions affecting millions of Americans every day–those that go beyond heart attacks or other well-known types of heart disease. Heart Health Month is a great time to spread the word.

The Heart Rhythm Society has developed two consumer awareness initiatives to focus on risk assessment, prevention and treatment of SCA and AF. The Apples and Oranges campaign explains the differences between SCA and a heart attack, while the A-Fib Feels Like campaign brings to light the warning signs of AF and the link between AF and stroke. Altogether, these campaigns provide detailed information to help people become more informed about common heart health issues and the field of electrophysiology.

Know Your Risk: Heart Rhythm Society Prevention Pulse Points

During Heart Health Month, take a close look at heart health and five simple ways to help prevent and seek early treatment for these common heart conditions.

Small Choices, Big Heart Benefits: Live a healthy lifestyle exercise regularly, eat healthy foods, maintain a healthy weight and avoid smoking to help reduce the chances of heart health problems.
Know Your Rhythm: Pay attention to abnormal heart rhythms palpitations, fast heart rates, really slow heart rates, fluttering in your chest and shortness of breath can also be signs of rhythm disorders.
By the Numbers: Treat and monitor health conditions that can contribute to heart problems, including high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes.
Family First: Know your family medical history and understand the associated risk for other cardiovascular related conditions, like heart failure.
Dont Skip a Beat: Document your symptoms and discuss them with a clinician/electrophysiologist to determine the best treatment options for you.
Learn More Online: Visit our website, http://www.HRSonline.org, for interactive tips and tools, patient resources and more.

Gain Unique Insights: New Educational Videos Show Real World Impact of AF & SCA

The Society has issued its first ever patient education video series as a resource to address the common misperceptions around heart rhythm disorders. The videos use a mix of real-world footage and animation to help patients and caregivers understand AF and SCA, including the warning signs, treatment options and a symptom tracker. Check out the new videos to learn more: AF Patient Education Video and SCA Patient Education Video.

We must continue to raise the bar when it comes to educating people about their heart health, added Dr. Wilkoff. It is not only important for people to better understand common heart rhythm disorders, but also to know more about the doctors who treat them, called electrophysiologists.

What is an Electrophysiologist?

There is a special type of heart doctor that treat patients with heart rhythm problemscalled an electrophysiologist. Electrophysiologists are cardiologists with advanced medical training to treat problems with the hearts electrical system, which result in heart rhythm disorders. The electrophysiologist can also help you learn if you or your family members are at risk for life-threatening rhythm disturbances, including SCA and AF. Find one near you by going here.

Albany, NY (PRWEB) January 10, 2012

Media Logic, a nationally recognized agency specializing in marketing for a social world, recently completed its Good Old Truck Facebook contest for client Cabelas to support the recreation retailers year-long Fifty Years Fifty Trucks sweepstakes. The contest, which received more than 1,000 entries and more than 80,000 votes, encouraged consumers to share a photo of their good old truck and win a $ 500 Cabelas gift card.

The winning entry, a pink 1952 Ford F-8 Big Job Fire Engine named Jennie Mae belonging to Jon Lovie, received more than 5,000 votes. Lovie uses the truck to raise awareness for cancer in Napa Valley, CA.

Lovie vows to put the $ 500 gift card up for auction and donate the proceeds to a cancer patient. [Jennie Mae] is named after my wife who was diagnosed with breast cancer 3 years ago, said Lovie in his award entry. All of the work updating her for her new mission was donated by people and local businesses that have had someone special in their lives that fought cancer. She has thousands of signatures on her from cancer survivors and from loved ones leaving a special note for those who have lost their battle to this horrible disease.

Media Logic believes social engagementengagement that runs deeper than simply clicking a like buttonis essential to a successful social marketing campaign. There are a number of ways brands can encourage fan engagement, said Ron Ladouceur, Media Logic executive vice president and creative director. Contests that encourage fan participation by posting photos or telling stories are great for recreation retailers. As evidenced by the Cabelas promotion, people have interesting stories to telland its stories like this that really drive engagement with a brand.

According to Derek Fortna, Internet Marketing Manager for Cabelas, social engagement is one of the keys to the outdoor outfitters marketing strategy. Promotions like Good Old Truck provide a great way for our fans to interact with the Cabelas brand, said Fortna. Its about forming stronger relationships, and showing how we understand and identify with our core customer.

Measuring engagement and analyzing how it is achieved is central to Media Logics social marketing business. Recently, Media Logic created the Retail Social Juice Index to measure social engagement for more than 500 brands across Facebook and Twitter, and then distills the data into a single useful number representative of retails social engagement. In addition to publishing an industry average on a daily basis, the Retail Social Juice Index highlights each days biggest movers.
